چکیده

We write down an asymptotic expression for action coordinates in an integrable Hamiltonian system with a focus-focus equilibrium. From the singularity in the actions we deduce that the Arnol’d determinant grows infinitely large near the pinched torus. Moreover, we prove that it is possible to globally parametrise the Liouville tori by their frequencies. If one perturbs this integrable system, then the KAM tori form a Whitney smooth family: they can be smoothly interpolated by a torus bundle that is diffeomorphic to the bundle of Liouville tori of the unperturbed integrable system. As is well-known, this bundle of Liouville tori is not trivial. Our result implies that the KAM tori have monodromy. In semi-classical quantum mechanics, quantisation rules select sequences of KAM tori that correspond to quantum levels. Hence a global labeling of quantum levels by two quantum numbers is not possible.

The Quasi-Periodic Reversible Hopf bifurcation

We consider the perturbed quasi-periodic dynamics of a family of reversible systems with normally 1:1 resonant invariant tori. We focus on the generic quasi-periodic reversible Hopf bifurcation and address the persistence problem for integrable quasiperiodic tori near the bifurcation point. Using kam theory, we describe how the resulting invariant tori of maximal and lower dimensions are parame...

On the Normal Behaviour of Partially Elliptic Lower Dimensional Tori of Hamiltonian Systems

The purpose of this paper is to study the dynamics near a reducible lower dimen sional invariant tori of a nite dimensional autonomous Hamiltonian system with degrees of freedom We will focus in the case in which the torus has some elliptic directions First let us assume that the torus is totally elliptic In this case it is shown that the di usion time the time to move away from the torus is ex...

Monodromy problem for the degenerate critical points

For the polynomial planar vector fields with a hyperbolic or nilpotent critical point at the origin, the monodromy problem has been solved, but for the strongly degenerate critical points this problem is still open. When the critical point is monodromic, the stability problem or the center- focus problem is an open problem too. In this paper we will consider the polynomial planar vector fields ...

Kam Theory near Multiplicity One Resonant Surfaces in Perturbations of A-priori Stable Hamiltonian Systems

We consider a near-integrable Hamiltonian system in action-angle variables with analytic Hamiltonian. For a given resonant surface of multi-plicity one we show that near a Cantor set of points on this surface, whose remaining frequencies enjoy the usual diophantine condition, the Hamiltonian may be written in a simple normal form which, under certain assumptions, may be related to the class whi...

Branching of Cantor manifolds of elliptic tori and applications to PDEs

We consider infinite dimensional Hamiltonian systems. First we prove the existence of “Cantor manifolds” of elliptic tori -of any finite higher dimensionaccumulating on a given elliptic KAM torus. Then, close to an elliptic equilibrium, we show the existence of Cantor manifolds of elliptic tori which are “branching” points of other Cantor manifolds of higher dimensional tori. We also provide a ...
